Treatment Modality

Microcurrent in Our Facials

Microcurrent is no longer sold as a standalone session. Instead, it is incorporated into our Specialized Cellular Longevity and Ultimate Cellular Lift facials, where it supports ATP production and facial muscle tone alongside the rest of a thoughtful, full-protocol treatment.

The Modality

What Is Microcurrent?

Microcurrent is a low-level electrical current that mirrors the body’s own natural bioelectricity — so subtle that most clients describe the sensation as a gentle tingling or nothing at all. It is non-invasive, painless, and requires no downtime.

Within a facial, microcurrent is used to support facial muscle tone and to help the skin produce more ATP (adenosine triphosphate — the cell’s energy currency, used for repair, regeneration, and day-to-day function). Over a series of facials that include microcurrent, the work also helps re-educate the small muscles of the face over time, restoring a sense of natural tone and architecture.

Microcurrent is one tool in a larger protocol. When you receive it at our studio, it sits alongside cleansing, massage, treatment serums, and the other hands-on work that defines a Frances facial — never as a quick pass-through on its own.

In Practice

How We Use It

Microcurrent is incorporated into two of our facials. It is not bookable on its own — each of these treatments is a complete protocol with microcurrent woven into the work.

Important

Microcurrent Safety & Customization

Microcurrent is not appropriate for everyone. Contraindications include pregnancy, pacemakers or implanted electrical devices, seizure disorders, active cancer in the treatment area, recent surgery, metal implants in the face or neck (excluding dental fillings), or active infection or inflammation.

If microcurrent is contraindicated, it will be safely substituted with other effective modalities such as advanced manual techniques, lymphatic drainage, facial cupping, Gua Sha, LED light therapy, or mask-based treatments.

During the Facial

What the Microcurrent Portion Feels Like

1

Prep & Assessment

Frances reviews your intake, checks for any contraindications, and decides whether microcurrent is appropriate for your session today. If it isn’t, she chooses the best substitute modality for your skin and goals.

2

Gentle Application

A conductive serum is applied, and the microcurrent wands are worked slowly along the face and neck. The current is low-level — most clients report a light tingle, warmth, or nothing at all. It should never hurt.

3

Folded Into the Full Facial

Microcurrent is one layer of the treatment, not the whole thing. Cleansing, massage, masks, serums, and finishing products continue around it, so the final result is a complete facial rather than a single-tool session.
